Bubble Insulation is a type of reflective thermal insulation made by sandwiching air bubble film(s) between reflective foil layers (aluminum or metalized film). It works by reducing radiant heat transfer, making it highly effective in hot climates and under metal roofs.
Typically composed of:
Single or Double Bubble Layer: Made from polyethylene (PE), traps air for thermal resistance.
Single or Double-sided Reflective Foil: Reflects up to 97% of radiant heat.
Reflects up to 97% radiant heat
Reduces indoor temperatures by 5–10°C
Lightweight and easy to install
Moisture-resistant – acts as a vapour barrier
Tear-resistant and durable
Non-toxic and safe to handle
Underdeck insulation for metal & concrete roofs
Wall insulation behind drywall or cladding
Ceiling insulation in pre-engineered buildings
Thermal and vapor barrier wrap for ducts
Enhances energy efficiency and temperature control
Used in vans, trailers, and container insulation
Type | Description |
---|---|
Single Bubble Single Foil (SBSF) | Basic type, one reflective side |
Single Bubble Double Foil (SBDF) | Reflective on both sides |
Double Bubble Double Foil (DBDF) | Higher thermal resistance, dual bubble layers |
White/Black Facing + Foil | For aesthetic or UV protection |
